Cute
and Cuddly: 4-H member Dustin Gustafson, of
Valparaiso, takes time to show his Duneland friends Kaylee Slont, a 5th
grader at Westchester Intermediate School and Avery Nunez, also a 5th grader
at WIS, his gentle rabbit named Blueberry. Dustin has more than 30 rabbits on
display at this year’s Porter County Fair.

Goats Check-In: 4-H members of
Lakeshore Drifters Brittany Biddle, a sophmore at CHS, and brother Brandon
Biddle, an 8th grader at CMS, are shown with their goats at this year’s
Porter County Fair. The 4-H Goat Show will be Tuesday evening, beginning at 5
p.m, in the Livestock Arena. The children's parents are Dean and Penny of
Chesterton.

Sprucing up for dog show: 4-H
member Liz Jones, a sophmore at Chesterton High School is shown getting her
dog Storm brushed before they go in the show arena for the obediance and
showmanship categories Thursday.

Keeping cool at the Fair: Lexy
Richards and her sister Delaney, of the Duneland area, enjoy refreshing ice
cream cones while enjoying the beautiful weather on Sunday afternoon. The duo
were taking in all the sights along the Midway at this year’s Porter County
Fair, which continues through Saturday, July 28.

Horse Competition Underway: 4-H
member Jacob Hughes, a Chesterton High School 2007 graduate, is shown with
his horse Sadie at this year’s Porter County Fair. The duo will be competing
in Trail class and Western classes early in the week. Horse competitions
start each day in the horse arena at 10 a.m.

Ready for horse competition:
4-H members Chris Hughes, a sophomore at Chesterton High School and his
brother Alex, a 7th grader at St. Pat’s are shown washing their horse Annie
on Sunday afternoon after being checked in. Horse competition events will
start on Monday in the Horse Arena and continue each day with different
classes starting at 10 a.m. The boys are members of Liberty Hotshots and
their parents are Jerry and Lisa of Jackson Township.
