U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky had no difficulty defending his 1st District seat
in the U.S. House on Tuesday, with a convincing win over his Republican
challenger, Joel Phelps of Portage.
Visclosky took
67 percent of the vote to Phelps’ 33 percent.
Visclosky’s
margin was only slightly narrower in Porter County, where he took 61 percent
of the vote to Phelps’ 39 percent.
Visclosky was
elected to his 15th term.
