Porter County Council at-large member Sylvia Graham-D announced Wednesday
her candidacy for a second term on the council.
“I enjoy serving on the council and I want to continue to be a voice for
Porter County Residents,” Graham said in a release given to the Tribune.
Besides council responsibilities, Graham has served on the county Plan
Commission, the Emergency Management Authority as well as the Porter County
Aging and Community Services. She will serve on the Porter County
Redevelopment Commission this year and is a liaison council person for nine
county departments.
Graham said during her term on the council, a certified tax system was
purchased and has been functioning well. Other accomplishments include
balancing the county budget, getting a handle on the county’s Enhanced 911
system upgrades as well as county drainage problems.
“Challenges do lie ahead and I want to be part of the solution. Therefore, I
am seeking re-election to serve another term on the Porter County Council
at-large,” Graham said.
