State Senator Karen Tallian, D-Portage, reminds Indiana residents that the
deadline to register to vote is approaching quickly. In order to vote in the
2012 General Election, you must be registered by Oct. 9.
Hoosiers can register “hassle-free” online by visiting www.IndianaVoters.com.
The website also offers services to voters who need to update their voting
information or to find their polling places. Voter registration forms may
also be mailed to the county election office (155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 105,
Valparaiso, IN 46383) or Indiana Election Division (302 W. Washington
Street, Room E204, Indianapolis, IN 46204).
If you have moved or changed your name, update your registration by
notifying the county registration office where you currently live or update
your information online.
Indiana voters can vote absentee by mail or by traveling election board
under certain circumstances that limit their ability to get to the polls
Election Day. Applications to receive an absentee ballot by mail must be
mailed to the county election board by Oct. 29.
All registered voters in Indiana are eligible to vote early, known as
absentee-in-person, at the county election office.
For more information about early voting, contact the Porter County Voters
Registration office at (219)465-3484 for times and locations.
