A Valparaiso resident was arrested Friday on a charge of battery with a
deadly weapon after Valparaiso Police said that he used a knife during a
fight in the parking lot of The Franklin House at 58 Campbell St.
According to police, at 2:26 a.m. officers were dispatched to the scene in
response to a report of a physical disturbance. On their arrival, police
said, officers made contact with two male subjects who had sustained
“multiple non-threatening injuries”—lacerations—caused by a knife. Both were
transported to Porter hospital for treatment.
Investigators subsequently determined that Clark Hogan, 22, of 2608 Shannon
Drive, and some other patrons at The Franklin House had gotten into a verbal
dispute and taken the argument outside, at which time Hogan “brandished a
