VPD: Second Valpo girl reports man in van

A second girl in the Beauty Creek subdivision has reported being approached by a man in a white van, Valparaiso Police said.

According to police, at 3:50 p.m. Thursday a 15-year-old girl was walking home when, in the area of Kickbush Drive and Knights Bridge Drive, a man in a white van approached her and asked her if she wanted a ride.

The man was described as Hispanic. The van had the letter P on the side in green or blue.

One day before, at 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, a 13-year-old girl was walking to a school bus stop when a white or Hispanic man in a white van pulled up along side her and asked her if she wanted a lift.

Police have increased patrols in the area of Beauty Creek subdivision,” the VPD said. Persons are asked to call 911 if they observe suspicious activity involving a white van or a Hispanic man.

In the meantime, the VPD continues to investigate the incidents. Anyone with information about the van or the man is asked to call the VPD at 462-2135 or text information to TIP411 and use the key word “Valpo” prior to submitting your information.
