Valparaiso Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who
fired a gun and injured another person.
According to police, on June 20 officers responded to a report of a
disturbance on Locust Street and discovered an unidentified subject there
who had been injured by a ricochet or debris after another subject—known at
the time only as “Giftid”—discharged a gun.
Investigators subsequently identified “Giftid” as Henry Burll Patterson, 24,
police said, and charged him with criminal recklessness with a handgun, a
Class D felony punishable by a term of six months to three years.
“A warrant for Patterson will be issued in the coming days,” police said.
Patterson’s whereabouts are currently unknown and the VPD is asking anyone
with knowledge of his location to call the VPD at 462-2135 or text a tip to
TIP411 (847-411) and enter “Valpo” as the keyword before sending the tip.
