South Haven Speedway robbed at gunpoint

The Porter County Sheriff’s Police is investigating the armed robbery on Tuesday of the Speedway at 796 N. Ind. 149 in South Haven.

According to police, at 10:05 p.m. a male subject entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and forced her to open the cash register and give him an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled the scene.

The suspect was described a black male, wearing a black ski mask, 5’ 9’’ in height with a large build, wearing black and blue pants, black shoes, tan gloves, and a dark blue nylon winter coat with a green collar and two red stripes running horizontally across the center of the back.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the robber is urged to call the PCSP’s Detective Bureau at (219) 477-3140. Anonymous tips can also be made to WeTip at (800) 782-7463. WeTip offers up to $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any suspects involved.
