Chesterton Police are seeking the man who robbed the Speedway gas station on
Sunday at 752 Indian Boundary Road.
According to police, at 6:10 a.m. a male subject entered the business, told
the clerk “All I want is these,” then took two Children’s’ Hospital donation
jars from the counter and fled the store. He was last seen eastbound on
Indian Boundary Road in a white SUV.
Officers flooded the scene, found a number of white SUVs which were not the
suspect’s vehicle, then got a tip that the suspect may have briefly parked
in front of a vacant house in the 900 block of Michael Drive. Officers
responded to that location but the SUV seen earlier was gone, police said.
The suspect was described as wearing a maroon hoodie.
It was unknown how much money was in the two donation jars.
The CPD was reviewing security footage provided by both the Speedway and the
Franciscan Alliance 24-hour ER department.
