Apparently West
Indiana Ave. between Fifth and Eighth streets is currently seeing an
over-abundance of speeding motorists, who are putting no one more at risk
than the neighborhood kids who, unmindful of traffic and of the fragility of
life, dart into and across the street like squirrels.
So Chesterton Town
Council Member Emerson DeLaney, R-5th, has been hearing from residents, and
so he reported to the Police Commission at its meeting Monday night.
Police Chief Dave
Cincoski promised to talk to his shift commanders about the problem and told
DeLaney that the neighborhood can expect to see a more visible police
presence in coming days.
