The Duneland Family YMCA offers Before & After School programs conveniently located at all five elementary schools in the Duneland School district: Bailly, Brummitt, Jackson, Liberty, and Yost.

The program is available Monday-Friday, between the hours of 6 to 7:45 a.m. and 2:15 to 6 p.m. When school is not in session, the Y offers Y-Care Days at the YMCA from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Y is also available for E-learning days! When the student’s assignments are completed, they can enjoy the remainder of the Y-Care day, participating in team building games, arts and crafts, and much more.

The Duneland Y Out of School Learning Program offers a scheduled, supervised environment that is safe for all children to attend. The Y staff creates an environment that combines academics with play within a caring and safe environment.

All staff are required to pass a criminal background check and complete trainings in CPR, First Aid, and AED; child abuse prevention; bloodborne pathogen precautions; and 15 additional hours each year in multi-age Childhood Education.

All staff continue childhood education through various YMCA certification courses.

To register or for more information, contact Sally Gabric at 219-921-0183 or sgabric@dunelandymca.org.

The Y is located at 215 Roosevelt St. in Chesterton, and is open 7 days a week.
