Porter Police are investigating the forced entry early Saturday of three
vehicles parked in the 1000 block of West Beam Street.
According to police, sometime between 12 and 7:30 a.m. someone broke windows
on all three vehicles--one parked in front of the residence, two in the
rear--then removed numerous items from two of the vehicles: a pair of
Pioneer CD/DVD stereo systems, a pair of iPods, a pair of JVC headphones, a
portable Playstation gaming system, a wallet containing miscellaneous
identification and debit cards, a pair of prescription sunglasses, and three
bottles of prescription medication.
No estimate of loss was available, although police did put total damage to
the three vehicles at $2,000.
Pole Barn Damaged
One day later, at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, a resident who lives just down the
block from the three vehicle entries reported that, within the last week,
someone had kicked in the service door of his pole barn. Nothing appears to
have been taken from the structure but damage was estimated at $200.
