CLOVERDALE, Ind. (AP) - State Police are blaming a fatal crash in western
Indiana on snowy and icy conditions along Interstate 70 caused by a late
winter snowstorm.
Trooper Don Anglin says 36-year-old Tiffany Ann Mikel of Bedford died
Tuesday evening when a semi-trailer plowed into her car after she lost
control of it merging onto I-70 near Cloverdale about 40 miles west of
Indianapolis.
Numerous other weather-related accidents were reported across Indiana
following the storm that dumped up to a foot of snow in northern Indiana.
The storm dropped three to five inches of snow across central and
north-central Indiana, and one to two inches of snow in southern parts of
the state.
Hazardous driving conditions prompted many school districts to delay
Wednesday’s start of classes to allow crews time to clear roadways.
