Pine Township burglary

The Porter County Sheriff’s Police is investigating another burglary in Pine Township.

According to police, sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Thursday someone kicked open a door, rummaged through a few rooms, and removed a Zinwell TV converter box.

Police estimated total loss and damage at $650.

In recent weeks the PCSP has investigated a number of burglaries committed in Pine and Jackson townships, most of them committed during the daytime while residents were at work. Recent burglaries occurred in the 300 block of Burdick Road, the 3000 block of East U.S. Highway 12, and the 400 block of C.R. 725N. In one burglary, the suspect removed $20,000 worth of jewelry. Entry has generally been forced, with doors kicked in.
