Four persons were
injured on Wednesday in what appears to have been a weather-related accident
on U.S. Highway 20, the Porter Fire Department is reporting.
Fire Chief Jay
Craig told the Chesterton Tribune this morning that the two-vehicle
crash occurred at 6:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 20 between
Tremont Road and Hadenfelt Road. The occupant of one of the vehicles was
transported to the trauma center at Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in
Gary, and the three occupants of the other vehicle to Porter Regional
Craig was unable to
say how exactly the crash occurred except that he believes a contributing
factor was the snow.
The Chesterton FD
assisted at the scene.
The PFD cleared the
scene at 7:17 p.m.
