The Nature’s Door business at 5830 U.S. Highway 6 was robbed on Monday, Portage Police said.

According to police, at 6:19 p.m. a masked male subject entered the store, took the clerk by the arm and walked her to the register, and told her to open it and hand him all the cash.

“As she was pulling out the money, he told her to hurry up,” police said. He then took the cash, threw two credit card receipts mixed in with it on the counter, and fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

The clerk advised that “there was no threat of weapon but she did see a bulge in his pocket,” police added.

The suspect was described as a white male, around 5’ 10’’ in height and 180 pounds in weight, with brown eyebrows, wearing a black jacket with hood, a black mask, and blue jeans.

A review of video surveillance tape suggests that the suspect may have been caught walking behind the building approximately 45 minutes prior to the robbery.

Police did not disclose the amount of money stolen. A K-9 track of the suspect was unsuccessful. The two credit card receipts were being processed for fingerprints.
