One motorist was struck by another on Tuesday, July 25, on 1050N in an apparent incident of road rage, Chesterton Police said.

According to police, at 4:08 p.m. a motorist was following a red Durango while eastbound on 1050N between C.R. 200W and C.R. 150W when the driver in front of him began slamming his brakes “multiple times.” After doing so the third time, the Durango’s driver exited his vehicle, “ran towards” the other motorist’s vehicle, and “proceeded to hit (the motorist) in the head as he tried to open his car door.”

The Durango’s driver then returned to his own vehicle and “sped away,” police said.

The other motorist “did not have any injuries from the incident,” police added.
