Michigan City man sentenced to 12 years in heroin conspiracy

A Michigan City resident was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess heroin with the intent to distribute, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana said.

Last week, Joshua Wampler, 36, was sentenced to 151 months in prison and to five years of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Porter County Drug Task Force, the Michigan City Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the LaPorte Metro Operations Drug Task Force.
