Manhunt Thursday in Jackson Township

Back To Front Page

Information was sketchy this morning on a manhunt involving the Lake County Sheriff’s Police which took place late Thursday afternoon in Jackson Township.

Law enforcement agencies in Porter and LaPorte counties told the Chesterton Tribune today that the incident apparently began when a LCSP deputy on drug interdiction duty performed a traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road. The subject of the stop fled the scene, however, exited the Toll Road, and attempted to go to ground in the area of C.R. 900N and C.R. 550E.

The LCSP subsequently took the subject into custody and neither the Porter County Sheriff’s Police nor the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Police took an active role in the manhunt.

The LCSP did not return a call this morning to the Tribune.
