A Liberty Township resident has been charged with four counts of child molesting.

Concepcion Anguiano, 34, with a listed address of 502 Windsor Drive, was booked into the Porter County Jail on Oct. 14 on two counts of Level 1 felony and two of Level 4 felony child molestation.

Anguiano is accused of having intimate contact with two children younger than 14.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Porter County Sheriff’s Police, on Feb. 16 the father of the children reported that, on or between the dates of Sept. 1, 2016, and Feb. 16, Feb. 2017, Anguiano fondled them and performed sexual acts on them while he was babysitting the two.

In a forensic interview conducted on Feb. 21 at Dunebrook in Michigan City, one of the children reported being made “uncomfortable” by Anguiano’s attentions and said that Anguiano “kept doing it when I told him not to.”

The children and their father were living with Anguiano at the time, the affidavit stated.

Anguiano, for his part, denied the allegations in an interview with the PCSP on Feb. 28 but failed to appear for a follow-up interview on March 1, the affidavit stated. The investigator further learned that “subsequent to our interview on Feb. 28, Anguiano moved out of his apartment and fled the area,” the affidavit stated.

A Level 1 felony is punishable by a term of 20 to 40 years; a Level 4 felony, by a term of two to 12 years.
