Liberty Township Fire Department takes delivery of new pumper

Back To Front Page

The Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department has taken delivery of its new 2016 Spartan Pumper, produced for the LTVFD by Spencer Manufacturing.

The Spartan Pumper--which replaces the 1993 GMC Topkick--will be the LTVFDs primary apparatus in responding to motor vehicle accidents.

Among the Spartan Pumper's features are its Hale QMAX 1500 GPM pump, a 750-gallon water tank, and a top-mounted control panel to ensure the safety of firefighters performing their functions at roadside. The new vehicle is capable of transporting six firefighters safely on board.

The LTVFD serves the Duneland community in both unincorporated Liberty and Jackson townships.

The LTVFD in particular is expressing its gratitude to First Source Bank of Chesterton for supporting the department in the acquisition process.
