A semi crash forced the closure of northbound lanes on I-65 early Saturday morning, the Indiana State Police said.

According to police, at 3 a.m. trucker Abdulkadir Ali Hassan, 47, of Seattle, Wash., was northbound on I-65 entering the curve on the long ramp to westbound I-80/94, traveling at a high rate of speed, when his rig overturned, sliding for approximately 300 feet before coming to rest and blocking all lanes of travel.

The trailer was loaded with 42,000 pounds of bagged concrete mix, police said.

Hassan escaped injury, police said.

Northbound I-65 was closed for approximately three hours, until 6 a.m., police said.

Hassanís rig is owned by Adi A. Babic of Grand Rapids, Mich., police said.
