The Indiana State Police is investigating an allegation of theft allegedly committed by a former Porter County Sheriff’s Police officer.

In statement released on Friday, the ISP said that on Thursday, May 10, a Fraternal Order of Police lodge accused the former deputy of theft.

The name of the former officer has not been released, as no charges have been filed.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” the ISP said. “When the investigation is complete, all findings will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney for review and action as deemed appropriate by that office.”

“It is Indiana State Police policy not to comment on active investigations,” the ISP added.
