A motorist who the Indiana State Police said was driving drunk and texting was involved in a one-vehicle accident on I-65 in Jasper County on Saturday.

According to police, at 7:20 a.m. Leanna Murphy, 32, of Walton, Ky., was northbound on I-65 when, four miles south of the Rensselaer exit, she realized while she was texting that her 2008 Mazda had drifted off from the left lane. Murphy over-corrected, swerved, and left the roadway to the west, hitting a median cable barrier, police said.

Murphy subsequently registered a blood alcohol content of .22 percent, police said.

Murphy--who was issued a citation for unsafe lane movement--was transported to Jasper County Jail on a charge of intoxicated.
