A former St. John man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of child pornography, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana said.

Christopher Raciti, 48, was sentenced to 78 months in prison and five years of supervised release as well as ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution along with the forfeiture of electronic devices associated with his crime, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

“According to documents filed in the case, between November 7, 2015, and continuing through March 9, 2016, Raciti knowingly possessed more than 600 visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his computer,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. “In January 2018, Raciti was charged by Information and immediately entered a plea of guilty to the charge.”

The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
