Chesterton Police are seeking the hit-and-run driver who damaged a vehicle on Tuesday parked in a driveway in the 800 block of South 14th Street.

According to police, at 11:45 p.m. a resident hear a “loud collision” outside, went to the window, and saw a “large dark-colored truck” backing from the driveway, after its driver had rear-ended the family car.

The height of the damage indicates that the truck’s front bumper or brush guard is damaged, police said. Police estimated damage to the family car at up to $2,500.
