Valparaiso City Police said the driver of a semi-tractor trailer was at
fault in a Sunday morning collision that resulted in the death of a
91-year-old Liberty Township resident.
Police said they issued a citation to Sampson Boadi, 41, of Columbus, Ohio
on a charge of disregarding an automatic signal.
Police said that at 10:57 a.m. at Ind. 49 and C.R. 400N, Boadi was
travelling northbound on 49 when he disregarded the red light and struck a
vehicle traveling westbound on 400N.
The driver of the westbound vehicle has been identified as Earl Eaton of
Liberty Township.
Police said Eaton was transported to Porter Hospital and later died due to
the injuries from the crash. The Porter County Coroner’s office said Eaton
died from blood loss due to multiple injuries to the chest area.
