The 26-year-old Valparaiso man who was found dead in a parking lot on Sunday, Dec. 2, died of blunt force trauma, apparently after a fall from a nearby water tower, Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris is reporting.

The body of Zachary Taylor was found around 2 p.m. in the parking lot at 360 S. Campbell St.

Harris said that investigators believe that Taylor fell from the former ANCO factory water tower.

The results of a routine toxicology screen are pending and expected in approximately two weeks, Harris added.

“The investigation is still ongoing and being investigated by the Porter County Coroner’s Office and the Valparaiso Police Department,” Harris said.
