The Porter County Sheriff’s Police is investigating the theft of copper wire from a home under construction in the 800 block of St. Andrews Drive in Liberty Township.

According to police, sometime between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. Wednesday someone entered the home—probably through an unlocked garage door—and then snipped and removed from the walls multiple sections of white electrical coaxial copper wire.

Police estimated the loss at $2,000.
