At 5 p.m. Friday, May 4, all Town of Chesterton residents who have published telephone numbers—or who have otherwise enrolled in the town’s new municipal notification system—will be receiving a test call by the new system.

Officials expect to use the system to notify residents in the event of extreme weather incidents, water main breaks, boil orders, road closures, man-made disasters, or other hazards or emergencies.

Please call the Chesterton Police Department at 926-1136 if you have any questions.

Those who receive the test call on Friday are not required to take any action. This is just a test.

Residents and businesses who do not receive a test call please add your information at www.chestertonin.org

If you have a cell phone number which you would like added to the database, you may also enroll on the town’s website.

Those who do not have computer access may call the Office of the Town Manager’s Office at (219) 926-1098 to register.
