A 33 year-old
Chesterton woman was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday due to injuries
after her vehicle collided with the guard rail on Interstate 90 near Cline
Avenue, Indiana State Police said.
Police this morning
said the woman has been identified as Lindsey Proper.
According to
police, at approximately 8:48 p.m. Proper was eastbound on I-90 when her
vehicle made contact with the guard rail. Proper was administered first aid
but died from her injuries, police said.
Police said the
right lane of eastbound I-90 was closed while emergency services cleared the
roadway and is now open as of this morning.
Assisting at the
scene was ISP, Lake County Coroner’s Office, Gary Fire and EMS and Herrera’s
Towing.
The investigation
of the crash is still ongoing, police said.
