A motorist was transported to Porter Regional Hospital on Monday following a
two-vehicle accident on Ind. 49, the Chesterton Fire Department said.
Capt. Rudy Jimenez told the Chesterton Tribune today that
firefighters and Superior Ambulance Service were dispatched at 5:35 p.m. to
the intersection of Ind. 49 and 950N, where one vehicle T-boned another in
the driverís side in the southbound lanes.
Jimenez said that the injured motorist in the second vehicle was apparently
not wearing his seatbelt and was pushed into the passengerís seat.
No extrication was necessary but the Superior EMS personnel transported the
motorist to Porter hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, Jimenez said.
The CFD cleared the scene at 6:10 p.m.
Chesterton Police were preparing a report on the crash.
