CFD: Heroin OD victim revived at Walgreen's

Chesterton firefighters resuscitated a heroin overdose victim on Saturday at Walgreen’s, 580 Indian Boundary Road.

Deputy Chief Nate Williams told the Chesterton Tribune today that firefighters were dispatched at 7:17 p.m. and found on their arrival a 26-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive.

Firefighters commenced CPR on the woman as well as administered a dose of Narcan, Williams said. On being revived, the woman stated that she’d taken heroin.

She was subsequently transported to hospital and the CFD cleared the scene at 7:40 p.m.

No further information was available this morning.
