A Burns Harbor man has died, after being injured in February in what Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris characterized as an “attack” at the Shift Change Tap.

Rodney Owen, 46, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Porter Regional Hospital, where he’d been hospitalized since Feb. 18, Harris said in a statement released late on Monday.

A forensic autopsy conducted earlier on Monday in Mishawaka determined that Owen “had suffered significant head trauma,” Harris said.

The cause and manner of death, however, are pending until the conclusion of the investigation being conducted by Burns Harbor Police and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Harris said.

The BHPD said today that a full report on the incident at the Shift Change Tap will be released when the investigation has been completed.
