An 11-year-old East Chicago boy drowned in Wolf Lake in Lake County on
Friday, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said.
The victim was identified as Antwain Hall.
According to a statement released on Saturday, at 5:45 p.m. Antwain was
swimming with a 13-year-old friend approximately 200 yards off shore when,
the friend later reported, Antwain “went under the water and didn’t show
back up.”
The Lake County Dive Team, assisted by the Hammond police and fire
departments, recovered the body 90 minutes later, at 7:15 p.m.
“The incident is under investigation and official cause of death will be
determined pending the results of an autopsy,” DNR said.
