Beverly Shores Police seek public's help in identifying driver who hit bicyclist

The Beverly Shores Police Department is requesting the publicís assistance in identifying the hit-and-run driver who struck a bicyclist on Sunday on U.S. Highway 12.

According to police, at 3:41 p.m. a 28-year-old Chicago man was bicycling westbound on the shoulder of U.S. 12, east of Broadway, when he was struck from behind by an unknown motorist who then fled the scene.

The bicyclist sustained injuries to his leg and foot, police said.

Evidence at the scene--pieces of a passengerís side heated mirror--indicates that the suspect vehicle was a black or very dark blue Hyundai, no older than a 2008 model.
