A Porter man has been arrested on a charge of child molesting, Porter Police said.

Anthony L. Childress, 19, of 1175 Dune Meadows Drive, has been charged with one count of child molesting, a Class B felony punishable by a term of six to 20 years. He was being held on no bond this morning at the Porter County Jail.

According to police, on Wednesday afternoon the mother of a juvenile boy arrived on station to report her son’s molestation by Childress. The mother advised investigators that earlier in the day she had seen a bruise on the boy’s upper leg, asked him about it, and was told by her son that Childress had bitten him on May 23.

The boy subsequently advised police that Childress had forcibly molested him and then threatened to kill him with a knife if he told anyone.

Childress later admitted to the incident, police said, and was taken into custody.
