Back to Front Page

Porter Police are investigating a road rage incident which occurred on Friday.

According to police, at around 12:46 p.m. a motorist pulled out of the Steel City truck stop parking lot at 1441 W. U.S. Highway 20 and turned left onto westbound U.S. 20. The motorist then observed in his rear view mirror a vehicle which he had not seen prior to entering the roadway.

The driver of that vehicle pulled around the motorist and stopped in the roadway, then exited his vehicle and approached the motorist’s own vehicle.

Some words were exchanged, police said, and then the unidentified driver swung and struck the motorist in the face with a right punch.

The unidentified driver then returned to his vehicle and left the scene westbound on U.S. 20. Police described the suspect as a white male, 6’ 2’’ in height and 250 pounds in weight. He was driving a blue passenger car with an In God We Trust license plate.
