Pathway Family Center, a substance abuse treatment center for adolescents
aged 10 to 21, officially opened its newest location in Chesterton on
Thursday, at 425 Sand Creek Drive, Suite C, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
celebrating the second phase of its strategic growth plan.
Daniel Franz, program director for Pathway’s Chesterton office, expressed his
gratitude for the strong financial support from the community, pledged by the
Porter County Commissioners, the Porter County Community Foundation, the
Porter County Substance Abuse Council, and the Community Action Drug
Coalition.
Franz also thanked the Porter County Sheriff’s Police for its “overwhelming
support.” The PCSP, he said, provided “the initial catalyst for Pathway to
begin operations” in Porter County in June 2007.
In addition, Franz thanked local businesses and their management for the
donation of materials, time, and expertise in the construction of the new
offices, and Kramer & Leonard for a generous donation of furniture.
