Debora S. (Lipke) Samardzija, of Valparaiso, died Friday, June 22, 2001 in Rochester, Minnesota. She was 46.

She was born January 11, 1955 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Donald G. and Jean M. (Kraft) Lipke, who survive in Hobart.

On April 16, 1977, she married Sam Samardzija, who survives in Valparaiso.

She is also survived by two sons, Samuel and Jeffrey Samardzija, of Valparaiso; two brothers, Marty (Cynde) Lipke, of Greenville, Ind. and Carey (Lisa) Lipke, of Hobart; a sister, Carol Lipke, of Hobart; paternal grandmother, LaMae (Blackman) Stott, of Valparaiso; and a mother-in-law, Mika Samardzija, of Hobart.

She was a secretary at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, a member of V.H.S. Quarterback Club and St. Elijah Serbian Cathedral in Merrillville.

Funeral services, Very Rev. Lazar Kostur officiating, are scheduled at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at ST. Elijah Serbian Cathedral, 8700 Taft, Merrillville. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday with Poman Service at 7 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso.
