Robert C. Yost, PhD. dies at 89

Robert C. Yost, Ph.D., of Chesterton, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at his home. He was 89.

He was born December 15, 1919 in Porter the son of Edgar and Lydia (Prayne) Yost, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley Yost, of Peshtigo, Wis.; two nephews, Newton Yost, of Peshtigo, Wis. and William Bendell, of Lancaster, Calif. and a niece, Joan Larson, of Baldwin, Wis.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Newton Yost, Neta Bendell and Dwayne Yost.

Robert was a Professor of Marketing at California State University and recently wrote his memoir. A historian, he wrote the history of Yost Elementary School, which was named in honor of his family. He was an avid golfer.

A memorial service, Pastor Chris Newman-Jacobs officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Private family interment service will be at Chesterton Cemetery.
