Thomas John Fadlevic, Jr. passes away at age 84

Thomas John Fadlevic, Jr., 84, of Wolcottville, Indiana died after a short illness at his Witmer Lake home on Monday, February 17, 2020, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 4, 1936, in Gary to Thomas J. Fadlevic, Sr. and Frances A. (Kovachic) Fadlevic.

He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps form 1951 to 1954. In 1960 in Gary, Indiana he married Anna Stock. They moved to Chesterton, Indiana in 1968, where they raised four children. After retirement he moved to Witmer Lake in Wolcottville in 1993. Mr. Fadlevic retired from Artic Engineering. He was a member of the American Legion in Chesterton, Indiana, a lifetime member of the VFW in Porter, Indiana, and a lifetime member of Pipefitter Local 597. Thomas enjoyed spending time fishing, boating and with family friends and his beloved dogs.

Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth (Rick) Owens of Valparaiso, Linda Steinhilber of Valparaiso, and Diane Wellborn of Salt Lake City, Utah; a son, Michael Fadlevic of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Taylor (Rodrigo Ito) Kraft, Garrett (Kalie Bishop) Owens, Lindsey Steinhilber, Aaron (Erin) Steinhilber, Jillian Malecki, Savinah Fadlevic, and Gabrielle Fadlevic; two great-grandchildren, Isla Owens and Hiro Ito; and a sister, Marrianne Gora of Canyon City, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Panchison.

The family is planning a private remembrance at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, IN, is assisting the family with arrangements.
