Oris "Lee" Fine,
age 78 of LaPorte, IN, formerly of Bradenton, FL, passed away on Saturday,
September 12, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July
23, 1942, in English Lake, IN, to Daniel and Fern (Koepping) Fine.
Lee is survived by
his loving wife of 54 years, Janice Elaine (Evans) Fine; four sons, Ralph
(Lois) Fine, Scott Fine, Eric (Patti) Fine, Brian (Anna Anderson) Fine;
sister, Lucille Lange; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many
nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and most of his other siblings.
Lee was a graduate
of Knox High School in 1960. He was honored in 2013 in the Knox High school
athletic hall of fame as a member of the 1960 Knox sectional Basketball
championship team. Lee enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 serving
three years, with a year and a half serving his country in Vietnam. He was
honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. On January 21, 1966, he
married Janice Elaine Evans, they were married an astonishing 54 years. Lee
retired from Bethlehem steel after 32 years of service, he acted as a
mediator in meetings in between the union and the ownership. Lee was a
lifelong Cubs and Bears fan, he also never met a hot dog he wouldn’t eat.
Lee loved to coach baseball with his sons. He was a Den Leader for the
Scouts and was active in his church. A big thank you to his friends and

will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Burial will follow
at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will be
held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
