John “Jack” Carroll
Hall, age 90 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020.
He was born on
November 1, 1929, in Baltimore, MD, to Albert and Helen (Steck) Hall.
Jack is survived by
his wife, Alma (Thume) Hall; son, Jeffrey (Cindy) Hall of Sperryville, VA;
and daughter, Sherry Hall Brann of Ottawa, KS; grandchildren, Wendy (Travis)
Lewis, Tim (Sarah) Hall, Lou (Danny) Brann-Border, Evan Brann, and Emma
Brann; six great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Barb) Hall; sister, Patricia
(Ted) Young; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, brother, Richard Hall and his wife Dee.
Jack served his
country as a member of the Maryland Air National Guard. Jack was a key
member of the Bethlehem Steel transition team when the mill opened in 1965.
He retired following 30 years of service. Jack and Alma met at Towson State
University and enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage together. He was known
for his sense of humor and quick wit. Jack always wished the best for all of
his family.
Funeral service
will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.
Visitation will be
held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the
service at 11:30 a.m. Also, John’s family and friends are invited to gather
at John and Alma’s Chesterton home on Saturday following the visitation at
1:00 p.m. for a continued celebration of John’s life.
