James E. Killosky,
former Chesterton Police Chief, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2020,
at the age of 78.
He was born on
November 15, 1941, in Gary, IN, to Alexander and Alexandria “Olga” (Sulkowski)
Killosky, both of whom preceded him in death.
On September 7,
1962, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, he married the love of his life,
Madelaine Killosky, who preceded him in death on September 10, 2006.
He is survived by
his loving sons, Mike (Jeanne) Killosky of Chesterton, IN, and Matt Killosky
of Zionsville, IN; his grandchildren, Jordan Killosky and Mallory Killosky;
his sister, Geraldine Ranalli of Chesterton, IN; and by his many nieces and

preceded in death by his brother, Alexander Joseph Killosky Jr., and by his
niece, Charlotte Jean Kolasa.
Jim was a member of
St. Patrick Catholic Church. He loved cars, fishing, golfing, boating, and
watching sporting events. Being a police officer was his whole life. He
started working at Chesterton Police Department, starting out as a
patrolman, then detective, and ultimately became the Chief of Police. When
he retired from the Chesterton Police force, he moved to Las Vegas, where he
worked for the Clark County School District Police. He was also the
President of the Chief of Police Association, which was recognized
