Roger Dale Jones,
Jr., 44, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday,
December 2, 2020, surrounded by the love of his life, Tracie, and his two
sons.
He was born
September 26, 1976, in Valparaiso and graduated from Chesterton High School
in 1995.
Roger trained as a
mechanic and continued to enjoy every manner of automotive repair, even when
much of it was done as favors for friends, and everyone seemed to be Roger’s
friend. More appropriately, Roger was a father and friend to everyone.
Sacrificing his own time, talents, and goods, he embraced his giving nature
early in life and the emotional rewards that came with it. He became a
family man and learned to love the domestic tasks that came with it, which
allowed him to be at home and available for anyone that just needed to talk.
His friendship extended to all generations, and he may even have stolen
friends from his wife and sons. His dedicated following of the Cubs, Bears
and Raiders, always gave him something to anticipate and share with his
entourage. His premature home going leaves an emotional void in the lives of
scores of family and friends.
Survivors include
his wife, Tracie Naillieux, sons, Curtis Jones (Cassie Carullo) of
Chesterton, Zakary Jones (Adeline Balcerak) of Valparaiso, mother, Kathleen
George of Knox, father, Roger D. Jones, Sr. of Portage, siblings, Jesse Hake
and Joshua (Amber) Entze, his grandmother, Mary Easton of Portage, nieces
and nephews, Rylee, Tyler, Aerin, Teagan, Amyia and Elijah, and many loving
aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in
death by his father-in-law, Skip Naillieux and grandmother, Martha Warren.
A visitation will
be held Saturday, December 12, from 3 - 6 p.m., at Moeller Funeral Home,
Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial donations
may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of greater Chicago.
