David Ward Wulfing, son of Virginia (Tallant) and Carl (Bud) Wulfing, was born on August 13, 1955, at Harvey, Ill., Cook County. He attended Wiseman College, in Steamboat, Colo. He was married to Deborah Franklin on May 2, 1981. Two children were born to them: Todd and Guy. He was a machinist by trade at Bethlehem Steel in ultra-sound/nondestructive testing and was a carpenter later in life. He was an avid duck hunter and motorcycle enthusiast.

He looked forward to retirement and wanted to travel. Instead he lost his year-long battle with cancer on March 12, 2020, at the age of 64 at home in Verdigre, Nebraska, with his beloved Karen Johnson at his side.

Survivors include his son Guy, in Tokyo, Japan; his sister Mary Sagisi (Ronelle), of Hawthorn, Ill; nieces and nephew, Sarah, Summer and Sam. He was preceded in death by his infant son Todd; his wife Deborah; his father Carl and his mother, Virginia.

At his request, his cremation was at Goglin Funeral Home, Tyndall, S.D., with his cremains to go back to Indiana, with his best friend Gary Anderson, to be scattered at a later date, where he grew up, the Dunes on Lake Michigan, where his parents cremains were scattered by David.
