Visitation and Services Friday for Philip L. Beres, age 68

Philip L. Beres, age 68, of Monterey, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in Westville, IN.

He was born on May 12, 1950, in Gary, IN, to Emil and Irene (Chikos) Beres.

Philip is survived by his wife, Barbara "Jeannie" (Biggs) Beres; children, Christopher (Georgienne) Beres and Patrick Beres; step-daughter, Amy (Christopher) Ross; step-sons, Joseph Biggs and Timothy (Sidney) Biggs; sister, Marie (Bill) Ginter; brother, Ronald (Fannie) Beres; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene Beres and Gerald Beres.

Philip graduated from Gary Wert High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Philip retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years. He enjoyed traveling and visiting other states and had a great fondness for all animals. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan and he was a huge fan of John Wayne movies.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.

Rosary service will be held prior to visitation at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery in Chesterton, IN.
