Services Friday for Amy C. Lindenmeyer, 49

Amy C. Lindenmeyer, age 49 of Lafayette, IN, passed away on January 14, 2019.

She was born on July 16, 1969, in Valparaiso, IN, to Jack and Betty Lindenmeyer, both surviving in Chesterton, IN.

Amy is also survived by her life partner, Jim Suiter of Lafayette, IN; her sisters, Julia (Steven) Waltz of Chesterton, IN and Susan (Maurice) Del Rosario of Grovetown, GA; her nieces and nephews; Nathan, Tim, Nicole, Kaitlyn, Jaime and Emily; and by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her cousins Ann, Brian and Jason; and by her uncle, Ralph Lindenmeyer.

Amy graduated from Rogers High School in Michigan City, IN. She then continued her studies and passion for her German heritage by receiving a degree in German Education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

Amy was frequently found at the flea market, where she loved to buy and sell her unique treasures. She was also known as the “Neighborhood Grandma.” She provided an open door for the children in her neighborhood, so they would have a safe place to go after school.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W 1100 N, Chesterton, IN. There will be visitation at the church on Friday, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Furnessville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton, IN.
