Leah Faith
Bucksbarg Scandling, passed away at age 60, on June 13, 2019, in Edgewater,
FL.
She was born on
April 21, 1959, at Ft. Benning Martin Army Hospital, Columbus, GA, “Our
Georgia Peach” to Dennis William Bucksbarg (deceased) and Martha Sue (Meyer)
Bucksbarg, who survives in Chesterton.
Leah Faith was
baptized at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Columbus, GA, by Reverend
Howard Welch on May 10, 1959. Her Godparents were Gerald Bucksbarg and
Haines and Patricia (Welch) Layfield-beloved friends.
She returned with
her parents to Chesterton, IN when Dennis’ Peace Time Draft was completed.
Leah’s parents were/are lifetime members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Chesterton.
Leah was confirmed
at St. Paul by Reverend Donald Garvue on June 10, 1973.
She graduated from
Chesterton High School in June of 1977.
A Trojanette in
high school, which she enjoyed and is remembered for, as well as being
beautiful, kind and generous.
Leah was uplifted,
comforted and sustained by her life-long Christian faith and love for God
and all of her family.
She is also
survived by her children: son-Adam Dennis Crispo (Vera); daughter-Katelyn (Scandling)
and Bradley Newcomer; grandchildren: Leila and Nora Crispo; Evayla, Halena
and Tristen Newcomer; brother, Brett Dennis and Mercy Bucksbarg; niece,
Heather (Bucksbarg) and Joseph O’Malley-their children: Joe and Olivia
O’Malley; and by her nephew, Luke Bucksbarg.
The family will
receive friends for a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 6
p.m. until 8 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S 2nd St., Chesterton,
IN.
A Memorial Service
will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran
Church, 106 E 1100 N, Chesterton, IN, with Reverend Erich Fickel
officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Memorial donations
in honor of Leah may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
